 General Tips

*Some fragrance oils and essential oils have colour of their own, so add them before you add the colourant. Liquid food colours work perfectly.

* If you are allergic to odours use nose mask

* Use protective hand gloves on both hands

*When you want to prepare a large volume like say 50liters, use 50.5 litres instead to avoid overspill.

*Measure the recipes accurately to avoid production error.

* Dissolve the ingredients well to avoid lumps in the final product

* Chemical salts look similar, so label all salt recipes to avoid misplacement during production

* Know the difference between water based color and oil based colour

FAQs

Question: What's the hardener suitable for Bath bar soap?

Answer: You can make use of Calcium Carbonate.

Question: Please is hardener and sodium silicate the same?

Answer: The two chemicals are not the same. Both are fillers used in soap bars to increase the volume of the batch process, making them extra bulky. However, sodium silicate inhibits mineral deposits on surfaces by removing water hardness.

Question: What are foamers and hardeners?

Answer: A foamer is a soap foaming agent.  A hardener is a chemical added as soap ingredient to gives the finished product a hard feel to the touch.

Question: Give an example

Answer: For instance, Sodium lauryl ether sulfate is a foam booster in my recipe and Sodium lactate as a hardener.
